Praying, praising God through song, reading the Bible, memorizing scripture from God's Word, and having fellowship with other Christians are all an important part of our spiritual walk with God. We want our children to know that God is their friend and He is always there for them!
Children's Church is offered for those Kindergarten through 5th grade and is held from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This ministry will be structured, but also fun. We will sing, have Bible study and encourage prayer. Prayer time is important and we will write the request on our prayer board, pray about it, and follow up on it in the next week. Please pray with your child and encourage him/her to pray for others.

Attendace Award Program
To encourage regular attendance, we have a perfect attendance program in place. Perfect attendance pins are presented to those children who strive to be in Sunday School each week. Sunday school is from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., where Bible study, activities, and crafts are enjoyed. Children are encouraged to bring a Bible each week. We have a weekly reward for those remembering to bring their Bible to Sunday School. Please let us know if your child needs a Bible, and we will gladly furnish one.

Sonbeam Singers
Children in the Pleasant Retreat Children's Division are called Sonbeam Singers. We learn new songs and also enjoy singing already familiar songs. Each fourth Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. worship service, the Sonbeam Singers look forward to praising God through song and singing for the congregation.
Other Children Division Activities
We encourage the children to take part in our Monthly Memory Project. We memorize bible verses and various things. We teach the importance of giving back to God and serving others by taking up a weekly offering. The kids look forward to taking turns as "ushers" and passing the plate. The money collected is saved all year long and then toys are bought and donated to the annual Firefighter's Christmas Toy Drive. The children participate in delivering these toys to the fire department in December.
The annual Children's Christmas Program is presented on the second Sunday in December. Parts are assigned and practice begins in latter October or early November during the Children's Church.
